Cornell Extension Bulletin 112, June 1925: “Color effect a large, iridescent, pale lavender-violet. S. light phlox purple to brighter Chinese violet. F. reddish phlox purple, veined brownish red on the lighter outer half. The beard is fine, rather sparse, yellow and orange tipped at the base. The purplish styles bronze at the edge. Rating 74”
