From Sass catalog, 1937: SNOWKING (H. P. Sass)-A new large white, the flowers well balanced on tall branching stems. Much admired at the Lincoln National Iris Show. $15.00 |
SNOW KING (Jacob Sass). A clear, large pure white. Very big and bold. Excellent branching, flowers finely formed. We consider this to be the showiest white in existence. Easily the finest of its type, ranking with the best hardy whites, and for mass planting, it is ahead of the field. H.M., A.I.S., 1936. Mid-season. 40-inches. $10.00.[Carl Salbach iris catalog, 1938] |
Snowking: Stalk tall, well branched—many flowers of large size—broad petals—balance perfect—quite outstanding. Has the poise of a king. [Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939), 19.] |
