'Valimar' ( Melba Hamblen, R. 1956). Seedling# 53-27H. TB, 36" (91 cm). Late midseason bloom. Color Class YO3L, Standards peach-pink (Wilson 512/1); falls nasturtium, orange influence (610/2); beard nasturtium-red. (Name transferred from 1955 registration, not introduced.). ( 'Helen Mc Gregor' x 'Radiation') X 'Palomino'. Mission Bell 1958. Honorable Mention 1958; Judges' Choice 1958, 1959; Amard of Merit 1960.

From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1958: VALIMAR (Melba Hamblen). Midseason-Late. 36 inches. (Sister to Enchanted Violet and Gay Adventure.) Rich, smooth apricot-pink with broad, flaring and ruffled falls. Exceptionally heavy substance. The stalks are very strong and well branched, often carrying three buds in each socket. Can be a superb breeder for pinks, apricots, orchids, violets and other byproducts of pinks, including whites with tangerine beards. Has a wide nasturtium-red beard. No. 53-27 H. H.C. 1957. $20.00
