(TB) 'Yakima'

1934, Kleinsorge

'Yakima' (Rudolph Kleinsorge, 1934). Tb, 48", Midseason bloom. Color Class S6D. Standards yellow, Falls red with golden hafts. 'Ambassadeur' x 'Bruno'. Cooley's 1934.

Cooley's 1934 catalog describes it as "A most brilliant variegata that provides a notable highlight in any planting. This iris, in contrasting tones of yellow and reddish purple, differs from others of its type such as 'Crown Prince' in that it is very much taller and contains more red than brown. Since it increases rapidly, we have a fair amount of stock and can price it very reasonably for a new introduction. A free bloomer and easy grower, making a sjiectacular garden mass."
