2000, Van Tubergen

'Teucros' RC ( C. G. Van Tubergen by Aril Society International, R. 2000). Regeliocyclus, AR, 18" (46 cm), Early midseason bloom. Standards lilac pink, fine dark pink veining; Falls silvery white flushed pink, maroon signal, fine maroon veining; beards maroon black. I. korolkowii var. concolor X I. iberica. In commerce prior to 1950; Dutch variety registered with KAVB.

From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: This one stumped the Reference Librarians at two big Libraries. Teucer was the first king of Troy and Teucria means Trojan-that's as far as we got. The flower is very like Dardanus and since it has the same breeding it is more than likely a sister seedling. The standards are more on the pink tone however. One that is quite reliable-generally! Early bloom. 18". 75¢.
From Supplement To The Comprehensive Checklist of Aril and Arilbred Iris by Sharon McAllister, April 2000: TEUCROS AR (C. G. Van Tubergen, NR). Sdlg #, code, height, and season NIA. I. korolkowii var. concolor X I. iberica. '76 CL: Silver lilac veined dark maroon. Court of Iris: "S soft pink with deeper veins; F silver-white, pink flushed and veined maroon, black signal patch." Rainbow: "EM-18". Standards melting lilac-pink, with fine dark pink veins. Falls glistening silvery white, flushed pink, decorated with fine maroon veins and a stunning dark maroon signal. Beard maroon-black." Valette: "pinkish lilac S. finely netted darker; grayish white F. veined brown, brown signal, maroon-black beard." Court of lris, 1961. Notes: Counted as a 21-chromosome diploid, an RC in both systems. Ref: AIS '79, p. 266; ASI '76, p. 84; ASI '78 YB, p. 64.
