A Section within the
Subgenus Limniris. These are often refered to by the old name
Apogon Iris which literally means beardless Irises. The term Limniris literally means pond Iris, although only a few actually thrive in ponds. For more on culture see

- Iris bracteata, Iris chrysophylla, Iris douglasiana, Iris fernaldii, Iris hartwegii, Iris innominata, Iris macrosiphon, Iris munzii, Iris purdyi, Iris tenax, Iris tenuissima, Iris thompsonii.
- Iris crocea, Iris graminea, Iris kerneriana, Iris lilacina, Iris longipedicellata, Iris ludwigii, Iris monnieri, Iris orientalis, Iris pontica, Iris pseudonotha, Iris sintenissii, Iris spuria, Iris xanthospuria.
- Iris anguifuga, Iris bungei, Iris cathayensis, Iris farreri, Iris kobayashi, Iris loczyi, Iris polysticta, Iris regelii , Iris songarica, Iris tenuifolia, Iris ventricosa.
There are many other species names in this group that have been reduced to a lower rank or to a synonym, such as;
