References:

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing CENTER FOLD (Niswonger '77). 12-73: 2-70: Lilac Treat x Raspberry Ripples) X ((16-68: Sapphire Fuzz x Rippling Waters) x (7-67: Sapphire Fuzz x Pink Flurry)). TB, 29", Early, fertile both ways, LO/PO. This flesh-colored (with a healthy tint of pink), ruffled iris could easily win the centerfold of any iris catalog. Even though it has a four bud count, the substance is heavy, and the blooms last five days. The pollen parent was a pink with a blue beard, but it bloomed without increase. The seed parent has a lavender, tipped tangerine beard, so this iris is a "must have" for those who are breeding pinks with blue beards. The standards are darker than the falls, and there is a hint of a pink band on the falls, so it might also be helpful in pink-banded breeding. If you're not a hybridizer, you will enjoy the unusual beauty of this iris in your garden. $25.00. Cape Iris.
