From AIS Bulletin #170 July 1963. Introducing ANGELIQUE (Mrs. Ernest Batson). Snow Flurry X Capitola. The huge onco-shaped flower with purple beard, done in orchid mist, veined with deeper purple, is undoubtedly the best arilbred I have seen. Many experts praise Angelique. Fast increaser, hardy, well branched and many blooms. Will take your breath when seen in two-year clump. 35". Early. H. C. 1962. $25.00. L.E.Fraser. |

image of 'Angelique' and her comments: "I love its orchid coloring and it grows well for us in zone 6b. I was given a rhizome by my friend's sister, a woman who started collecting many years before I got my start in the mid '80s."
There is also a mention and
clump photo ('Angelique' is in the back) in the World of Irises AIS blog
