'Askalon' OB- (Stafford Jory by Edinger, R. 1979). AB (1/4), 32" (81 cm). Early to midseason bloom. Standards lavender; Falls chartreuse buff, shaded purple. ('Grace Mohr' x ('King Midas' x 'Alta California')) X 'Capitola'. Jory, 1949.

From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: ASKALON (Jory '49) M 30" (Grace Mohr Sdlg. X Capitola) A pinkish-lavender hybrid with deeper colored falls lighted by a yellow flush. Note the Mohr blood in both seed and pollen parents. $1.00.
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: ASKALON (Jory 1949) E. M. 36 in. (Grace Mohr sdlg. x Capitola). A lovely hybrid of typical Mohr form, this is a bicolor with lavender stands and darker lavender falls that are flushed yellow. l.OO.
