From Milliken Iris Garden catalog, 1948: AZIM (C. G. White ) An oncobred which is very unusual in its coloring. The standards are olive-buff. The falls are somewhat deeper and more colorful, being a regular medley of wine, purple and pale yellow. Not a showy garden variety but exceptional for flower arrangements. 2-1/2 feet, sometimes more. $3.50. |

Court of Iris: "Veins and heavy striations of varying tones give this olive-buff blossom a definite look of the far East." Vallette: "S. creamy buff, washed lavender; F. flaring cream." No information on introduction found in AIS Checklists. Notes: Classified as an OB by the'76 committee, although reported as having 48 chromosomes, including one regelia chromosome 2.
