'Baltis' OB ( Clarence G. White, R. 1947). AB, TMB, tall. Early bloom. Blended maroon and gold self. White, 1948. No information on introduction found in AIS checklists.

From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1948: A very rich deep violet self, napthalene violet, shaded with dark napthalene violet (Ridgway ), with pronounced oncocyclus characteristics. The flowers are round, about 5-1/2 inches in diameter, of excellent substance. The stalks have three branches, each branch having two buds. A very fine flower for cutting as well as for the garden. 3 feet. $10.00
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: BALTIS (White '48) M 36" (Unknown). The deep rich violet blooms show a pronounced Onco type and the good branching habit make this a desirable subject for both the garden and cutting. H.M. '48. $1.50

Parentage unknown, but registered as "oncobred". AIS Color Class: SID (dark blue-toned squalens). '76 CL: Dark blend self Rainbow: "Flowers almost globular. .. rich deep violet self shaded with dark naphthalene violet." Vallette: "dark blue self, onco type." White, 1948. No information on introduction found in AIS Checklists. Notes: Classified as an OB by the '76 committee. Ref :AIS '49, p. 43; ASI '76, p. 15; Vallette, p. 175.
