Court of Iris: "The cream-brown ground color is veined in deep purple and the signal patch is a velvety black." Rainbow: "Standards ruffled light silvery crimson, c1osed. Falls soft yet rather dark red with a prominent black signal." Vallette: "reddish bitone, black signal." Millikin, 1938. Notes: Counted as a 22-chromsome diploid, an OB in the both systems.
