From Milliken Iris Garden catalog, 1948: BED TIME (C. G. White) A fascinating flower of rich brown blended with violet and beautifully veined in both standards and falls with deep purpies. A velvety black patch is prominentlv displayed at the end of the long golden yellow beard. Bed Time is a flower of medium size on 2-foot stems. Early. An oncobred. 75c; 3 for $2.00.
From The Court Of Iris catalog,1955: BED TIME (White '38) E 24" (Sofarana X Susiana) X (Yellow Sdlg.)The seed parent, which is itself a cross of two dramatic Onco species, has given this beautiful bloom its deep purple veining on a cream-brown ground. It is further ornamented by a velvety black signal patch so characteristic of the wild 'Lily of the Field'. $.75

(I. sofarana x L susiana) X yellow median. S7D (dark, red-toned squalens). No description in '76 CL. Court of Iris: "The cream-brown ground color is veined in deep purple and the signal patch is a velvety black." Rainbow: "Standards ruffled light silvery crimson, c1osed. Falls soft yet rather dark red with a prominent black signal." Vallette: "reddish bitone, black signal." Millikin, 1938. Notes: Counted as a 22-chromsome diploid, an OB in the both systems.
