'Grizzled Old Warrior' OGB (Sharon McAllister, R. 1998). Seedling 85-3-21. AB, 28" (71 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards near-white ground, veined blue violet; style arms yellowish ivory; Falls yellowish ivory ground, dotted and veined red violet; beards near-black. 'Boaz' X 'Jean Ralls'. McAllister's Iris Gardens, 1998

From AIS Bulletin #309 April 1998 Introducing GRIZZLED OLD WARRIOR (McAllister, 1998). Sdlg. 85-3-21. Near-white standards are veined blue-violet. Yellowish-ivory falls are dotted and veined in redviolet. Dense beard matches the black fur of its feline namesake. A fully fertile 1/2-bred (OGB) from Boaz X Jean Ralls. $35.00. McAllister's Iris Gardens.
