1970, Rogers

'King's Silk' OGB (Mark Rogers, R. 1970). Seedling 64-8. AB, 22" (56 cm). Early bloom. Medley of colors including brownish shade of oxblood red near edges, through shades of beetroot purple with flush of violet blue below beard, veined brownish shade in throat and on hafts; styles shade of electric blue, ending in color of standards; blue beard tipped yellow. 'Silken Dalliance' X 'King Henry'. Sierra Vista Iris Gardens, 1970. Honorable Mention 1973.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing KING'S SILK (M. Rogers '70)' AB (Mohr type), 22", early. Silken Dalliance X King Henry. Medium sized flowers are a blending and medley of colors; brownish oxblood red through beetroot purple; falls have a flush of violet-blue. Possible source of genes for a larger regelia type flower. $7.50 each, net. Sierra Vista Iris Garden.
