From Knopf Iris Gardens catalog,1965: POMO CHIEF: Seedling No. 61-1-E Arilbred 36". Midseason. New Hope x Jallah Effendi. This is one of the easy to grow arilbreds. Greenish cream standards, well domed and frilled, tan green falls. Very wide and full with purple veining. Brown beard. The overall flower is slightly flecked almost a plic.
