1959, Abell

'Saffron Jewel' RB- (Thornton Abell, R. 1959). Seedling 56-6-1. AB, 28" (71 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards oyster, veined and edged chartreuse; Falls oyster and chartreuse; flax blue blaze and beard. 'Saffron Charm' X 'Arabi Pasha'. 1963. [ATTT]. Exhibition Certificate 1962; Honorable Mention 1964; Judges Choice 1965; Mohr Award 1971.

'Saffron Jewel' was recognized with Honorable Mentions in 1964 in both the Tall Bearded Iris and the Aril and Arilbreds catagories.
