original catalog description "Judean Star, Laur, '68. $20.00; Oncocyclus seedling 023A59, Judean Charmer X Judean Silver, Registered 1967, AIS Color classification VP4Wcm. Standards are a very pale violet veined strong violet, Falls are white with a gold flush and are veined maroon, the large black signal has a maroon flush. This pure oncocyclus hybrid is a great step forward in hardiness in its class. It is as easy to grow and bloom as the average regeliocyclus. The flower is immense and quite impressive. Petal substance and strength of stalk are very good. Falls are reflexed in the manner of the oncocyclus species. This iris, as all pure arils do, needs special growing methods. Not complicated methods, but different from the tall bearded iris. It is not for the inexperienced gardener unless growing instructions are followed closely. |
