From AIS Bulletin #202 July 1971 Introducing KOVIAR (Emma Hobbs, '71). AR miniature. 8". Sdlg. 63-8, HC '70. This exciting little inter-species hybrid just has to appeal to every lover of arilbreds, species, miniatures, and just plain pretty things. The breeding is quite a combination, I. korolkowii violacea X I. arenaria. It blooms with the late miniatures. The base color is a medium sulfur yellow. The standards are veined with bright mahogany-brown, which explodes into a prominent signal spot and strong radiating lines through the falls, with a beard of the same color. We have seen a lot of miniatures, but this one really grabs us. Net $10.00. Riverdale Iris Gardens. |
