'Border Velvet' (Bryan Spoon, R. 2014) Seedling 2006-B9RE. BB, 25" (64 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards black (RHS 202A), dark violet-blue (N92A) base, edge and claws, erect; style arms dark violet (86A), lighter (86D) edge, laced crests; falls velvety black (203A), dark violet between hidden basal haft veins, arched; beards violet-blue (93A), orange (28B) tips deep in throat; ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. 'Anvil Of Darkness' X seedling 2003-B2: ('Daughter Of Stars' x 'Black Suited'). Winterberry 2015. Honorable Mention 2017.
