'Coral Shell' ( Bennett Jones, R. 1988) Seedling #84-6-3. BB, 22" (56 cm). Early bloom. Deep coral; tangerine beard; slight fragrance. Seedling #81-32-1: (('Bright Life' x pink seedling) x ('Bright Life' x 'Orange Chariot')) X seedling #81-20-3: ((Bright Butterfly x ' Bright Life') x ('Bright Life' x pink seedling)). B Jones 1989. Honorable Mentiion. 1991.

From AIS Bulletin #273 April 1989 Introducing CORAL SHELL-BB Sdlg. 84-6-3: ((Bright Life x pink sdlg.) x (Bright Life x Orange Chariot)) X ((Bright Life x Bright Butterfly) x (Bright Life x pink sdlg. )). Coral pink self, more red coral than we have seen in any iris to date. Showy flowers are nicely formed, standards are closed. Very early bloom, 6 buds, and a consistent 22" in height here. A true border iris, we think. $20.00. Bennett Jones.
