(BB) 'Little Empress'

1970, Jeffries

'Little Empress' ( Robert Jeffries, R. 1970). Seedling #J1564 Cr. BB, 26" (66 cm). Late midseason bloom. Standards pale empire yellow (Wilson 603/2); falls white with border of deeper empire yellow and same color in haft area, tiny blue blaze at tip of beard; beard white tipped yellowish orange. 'Lula Marguerite' X Hamblen seedling #H8-38A (pink seedling x 'Melodrama'). Kansas Rainbow 1970.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing LITTLE EMPRESS Sdlg. J1564 Cr. BB, 26", M-L. Standards pale empire yellow (Wilson 603/2); falls white with border of deeper empire-yellow; same color in haft area; tiny blue blaze at tip of yellowish-orange beard forms a sapphire crown jewel. Floriferous with 12 or more buds on adequate branching. (Lula Marguerite X Hamblen sdlg. H8-38A: (pink sdlg. X Melodrama). $20.00. Kansas Rainbow Gardens.
