1987, Nichols

'Starlighter' (Hooker Nichols, R. 1985) Seedling #8131B. BB, 26" (66 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards purple, few white specks at base; falls grape, white center; white beard tipped orange; ruffled; sweet fragrance. 'Victory Pledge' X 'Aegean Star'. Hillcrest Iris 1987. High Commendation 1983; Honorable Mention 1989.

From AIS Bulletin #264 January 1987 Introducing STARLIGHTER (H. Nichols '87) BB, 26", M-L. Entirely different from its sister. The ruffled standards are purple with a few white specks at the base; ruffled grape falls have white centers and white beards tipped orange. Fertile both ways. Sib to Aegean Waltz. HC 1983. $25.00. Hillcrest Iris Gardens.
