■(BB) 'Whoop 'Em Up'

1974, Brady

'Whoop 'Em Up' ( Dovie Brady, R. 1973) Seedling #B-BP-67-93. BB, 27" (69 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards golden yellow; falls maroon with golden yellow on reverse side extending to top as all around edge; yellow beard. ( 'Bang' x 'Plunder') X 'Extravaganza'. Skyline Iris 1974. Honorable Mention 1976, Award of Merit 1978; Knowlton Medal 1981.

  • Bb 'Whoop 'Em Up' bloomed approximately May 27 - June 7, 2017 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b. 'Whoop 'Em Up' gets fairly deep, Purple Based Foliage on the spathes only, however, I didn't notice any at the base of the foliage. -- HollyJohnson2017-04-01 - 01 Aug 2017
