- On page 236: SPECX should read: This is an experimental class noting innovation. The class of Irises that are hybrids, involving two or more Iris species. Interspecies crosses are but one type. The class is the starting point of new classifications. Example: When I.pumila was crossed with Tall-bearded it would have been a SPECX until enough of this cross existed and the fertile family developed. When enough of this type of class developed it was given its own name, SDB. -- BobPries - 2016-06-08
