From H. P. Simpson catalog, 1922: ARNOLS (Barr, 189-) S. bronze with rosy tints; F. rich soft violet. Handsome medium-size blooms. Among the bronze types this is one of the most attractive. Almost as fine as Prosper Laugier and a faster grower. 24-26 inch. 20ยข
From Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1930: ARNOLS (Barr, 1874). Standards slate purple, flushed with umber; falls straight hanging, dusky purple, veined burnt umber; haft flushed lemon-yellow; beard orange; 36 inches. An old but distinct and valuable variety. Good foliage. $0.35.
