(IB) 'Dew Point'

1971, Plough

'Dew Point' ( Gordon Plough, R. 1970). Seedling #65-96-6. IB, 16" (41 cm), Early midseason bloom. Standards French blue (HCC 43/3) deepening to gentian blue (42/3) at base; falls French blue with olive veins near haft; cobalt blue beard with each hair tipped yellow, heavier in throat. Seedling #63-117-16: ( 'Truce' x 'Easter Holiday') X 'Blue Miller'. Eden Road 1971. Selected for trial at Wisley, received an AGM in 1979.

DEW POINT (Plough '71)This is a different blue in intermediates, a delft-blue with an intense blue beard. The flower form, substance, and branching are all in its favor. [Perry Dyer, "Roanoke 1974, and Points West," The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, Vol. 55, No. 214 (July 1974): 29.]
