■(IB) 'Langport Minstrel'
1968, Kelway and Sons
'Langport Minstrel' (
Kelway and Sons, R. 1995). IB, 22" (56 cm), Midseason bloom. Cream; falls with bronze patch; beards gold. Parentage unknown. Kelway 1968.
There is some potential confusion about this iris and there may have been two different varieties sold under this name. The catalogue descriptions remain the same but the photos suggest a change. The 1998 catalogue shows what appears to be a different variety to the later catalogues (including 1999). The
1998 image shows a flower with a different form and the veining appears different (the darker yellow colour may just be attributed to lighting and exposure of the photo). This may be attributabel to a change in owenrship of the nursery in 1994 and mis-identificaiton by the new owners.
