1971, Harder

'Macey' (Constance Harder by Opal Brown, R. 1970). Seedling #64-3. IB, Height 17" (43 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards ruffled primrose (RHS 4C); falls chartreuse (154A/B) with deep green fernlike pattern radiating from beard; beard white deepening to orange in heart. ('Fairy Flax' x 'Green Spot') X 'Capitola'. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens 1971. Honorable Mention 1974.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing MACEY NET $5.00. (Constanze Harder '71) INTERMEDIATE. 15 to 17 inches. Two branches and terminal. 4 buds. 4-1/2" flowers. One of the greenest things we have seen from Green Spot breeding. Lovely ruffled flowers with primrose yellow standards; horizontal falls of chartreuse with deep green "fern leaf" pattern radiating from the fuzzy orange to white beard. Unique and valuable parentage-Fairy Flax x Green Spot X Capitola. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens.
