'Mithras' (Max Goos & August Koenemann, 1910) IB. Late bloom. Color Class-Y9D.

Note: Not to be confused with TB 'Mithra', DeForest, 1958.

From Wing Seed catalog, 1919: MITHRAS — (Var.) S. canary-yellow; F. brilliant velvety wine-red, with very narrow edge of deep yellow. Divisions all very short and broad. Strong and free. 50c.
From Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1925: Standards light yellow; falls maroon with narrow border of yellow. One of the taller of the variegata varieties and one of the best.
