From Sarah Toedt’s Springtime Gardens catalog, 1929: MRS. WICHT — Standards are mellow toned golden orange. Velvety falls of rich dark coppery brown red. The back of the falls are flushed with golden orange. Heavy texture. Back of this variety we have planted the large-flowering, spring-blooming Helenium Hoopesi, whose decorative flower clusters are the same mellow toned orange from the tops of the cone shaped centers to the tips of the slender, straight-hanging petals. |
