'Paganite' (Earl Roberts, R. 1960). Seedling #60R39. IB, 17" (43 cm), Early midseason bloom. Purple self; brownish hafts; blue beard. 'Pagan Royal' X Cook seedling #1155: ('Progenitor' x blue pumila). Roberts 1963. Honorable Mention 1964.

From AIS Bulletin #169, April 1963. Introducing PAGANITE (Pagan Royal X Cook 1155) IB, 17". $10.00. This is similar to Elfin Royale in color but a self rather than bitone. S. closed, F. flared, a velvety purple, brownish at hafts, dark blue beard, very fragrant, fertile both ways. Earl Roberts.
