From The Royal Iris Gardens catalog, 1933: RED ELF (Nich. 1932). 26". A deep ruby red self of greater depth and brilliance than any other in its class. Deeper and redder than Spark, but later to bloom, as Spark is an Intermediate. Rather small blooms, but very floriferous, making a brilliant red mass. This and Spark are the reddest Bearded Irises we have yet seen, and are always greatly admired. $3.00 |
