1977, Heisz

'Velma Ann' (Mary Heisz, R. 1977). Seedling #1-69-A. IB, 22" (56 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards golden with green influence inside and small showing of falls color; falls red-brown, tapering to edge of gold, lined with green veining; brown beard. 'Golden Fair' X seedling. Heisz 1977.

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing VELMA ANN (M. Reisz '77). IB. (Golden Fair X sdlg.) Unique styling. The closed S. have a golden sheen with green influence inside the petals; small showing of F. color at the base. F. red brown, tapering to a lighter edge of gold and lined with green veining. Brown beards matchmg the color of the F. Slight reticulations Which are blended in nIcely. Styles match the color of S. $15.00. Heisz Iris Garden.
