From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1948: YARKAND (C. G. White ) Oncobred. A wonderful oncobred which is a symphony of violets. The lighter Wisteria violet (Ridgway), is veined and toned with the deeper Blanc's, Bradley's and Madder violets (Ridgway). The flowers are large for flowers of this type, 5-1/2 inches high by 4-1/2 inches wide and are borne on single branched stalks about two feet tall. The growth is vigorons but we do not know about its behavior in colder sections. $10.00.
From Milliken catalog 1953: A strangely beautiful oncobred, carrying much of the true onco in its makeup. A medley of violets with an almost black beard and signal patch. The flower is almost a complete globe, as the Falls curl under in true onco fashion. 24".

From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: YARKAND (White '47) M 24" (Unknown). The large globular flowers remind one of susiana in shape. Really a bi-tone in violet, shading from wistaria in the standards to deep purple-violet in the veined falls. Although it has never proved fertile for us, we keep trying, for we like it very much. $1.50
