Afrocrocus J.C.Manning & Goldblatt, Iris Family: 160 (2008). but is relegated as a synonym of Syringodea Hook.f., Bot. Mag. 99: t. 6072 (1873), nom. cons. The only species ( Afrocrocus unifolius (Goldblatt) Goldblatt & J.C.Manning, Iris Family: 160 (2008), no basionym ref.. ) is not accepted by the World Checklist but is considered a synonym of Syringodea unifolia Goldblatt, Fl.
