From AIS Bulletin #234 Summer 1979 Introducing ARDEA HERODIAS (Paolucci & Conningham). Alpha 101011001000. T. Sakata seedling. Height 120 cm., bloom diameter 22.5 cm., 3 petals. Diploid. This deep blue beauty is one of the finest examples of the three-petal deep blues so beloved of the Japanese. Its stylearms are long, perfectly proportioned and positioned in accordance with the classic Japanese conventions for this type of I. ensata hybrid. $25.00. Paolucci/Conningham.
