From Marx Gardens catalog, 1958: CALICO MAID (Marx 1956) Each $7.50 Ordinarily, the marbled varieties do not match other colors for size, but this magnificent new marbled giant amazes all with its size as well as its beauty. Each bloom is a fountain of colors, from the rich (Canterbury) blue markings around the central golden signals to the lighter violet splotches on the outer portions. The entire ground color is pearly white. The massive double blooms are lightly ruffled and come rather late in the season. Larger and brighter than Nishiki-Gi. 3 to 3½ feet.
