From AIS Bulletin #238 July 1980 Introducing CEILY BLEU (Paolucci & Conningham). Gamma 1001101-D1000. Ardea Herodias X Kongo Jyoh. Height 90 ern., bloom diameter 23~25 ern. Nine petals plus petalloids. Diploid. A muted lavender-blue hazed with frosty blue, this extravagantly creped and ruffled beauty presents a most unusual and attractive blending of hues. The petalloids are a contrast in a somewhat darker shade of cool blue, and, of course, both the petals and petalloids are narrowly edged in icy white. Altogether, a most important acquisition for the collector of fine Japanese Iris. $55.00. Paolucci/Conningham. |
