From Marx Gardens catalog, 1963: CRYSTAL HALO (Marx 1959) Each $4.00. Rarely we come upon a new seedling that is quite different from any other. This is such an iris. In place of the usual dark colored border this unusual Marhigo catches the eye first of all with its wide white rim. The striking contrast of white against the inner lavender ground penciled purple creates a most dramatic picture. The flat flowers enhance the color combination even more emphatically. Well branched stems bear several 8 to 9-inch blooms on 4-foot stems for weeks in midseason. Picture page 12.
