From Marx Gardens catalog, 1962: FROSTED PYRAMID (Marx 1960) Each $10.00. Our first truly double Marhigo introduction and perhaps the most beautiful Japanese Iris in our collection. We have grown a few imported double or "Peony Type" Higo varieties which cannot measure up to this exquisitely ruffled pure white Marhigo. The extra petals are more fully developed and more gracefully arranged in each blossom. In fact, when this seedling was first exhibited many visitors mistook it for a white peony or a rose. Half opened blooms do closely resemble the loveliest white hybrid tea roses. Here is truly a rare collector's item that will bring real prestige to the gardens of the most discriminating. Medium-size flowers on 36- to 40-inch stems. We have only a few plants to spare this year.
