'Gay Gallant' ( Walter Marx, R. 1961) JI (double), height 48" (122 cm), Midseason bloom. White with blue veins. From two Marhigo seedlings. Marx 1962. Honorable Mention 1965.

From Marx Gardens catalog, 1962: GAY GALLANT Each $3.00. One of our most brilliant and colorful selections from the RIGOLETTO Series. Ground color is white with the bluest penciling of all. The remarkable feature however, is the center of inky blue-black styles. This sharp color contrast sets this Marhigo apart from all others and the perfectly rounded flowers of crisp flaring form are of medium size averaging about 7 inches in diameter. 4 feet. Midseason. Building a large stock before offering this seedling permits a modest introductory price. Picture page 6.
