From Marx Gardens catalog, 1962: KING'S COURT (Marx 1961 ) Each $7.50. The courtly glitter, color and pomp of the most extravagant royal palaces might symbolize this velvety rich hued massive flower. Similar to but much larger than BRILLIANT BURGUNDY and comes into bloom at the very end of the season rather than the beginning. Color is rich beet red with some white veining. Large white styles are also tipped beet red. Another prodigious bloomer and a clump of 10 to ll flowers is something to remember. We recommend this one to any fancier looking for the ultimate in this color class. Very late. 4-1/2 to 5 feet. Picture page 8.
