References:

From Flowerfield catalog, 1956: LIGHT-IN-THE-OPAL (Flowerfield). The delicate shading of shimmering orchid-pink with its faint flecking of blue around the yellow signals make this variety perhaps one of the loveliest flowers in existence. The style columns and fine veinings are white with the style branches forming an almost full triple flower. Tall growing, with sturdy plant growth, Light-in-the-Opal is as much loved and prized today as it was when we first introduced 11 years ago. Each $3.OO. Three $6.00. Doz. $8.00.
From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1942: LIGHT-IN-THE-OPAL (Childs 1936) Dbl. A magnificent pink iris of perfect form and finish. $2.00.
