From Flowerfield catalog, 1939: Amethyst-violet, yellow throat, markings hidden by styles, a distinct blue flush toward center of petals. 30". $.50.
 
From Flowerfield Bulb Farm catalog 1942: Patrocle Each 30c, Six $1.50. Patrocle Each 30c, Six $1.50. An amethyst-violet flower with yellow throat markings. There is a dark flush toward the center of the single petals. Patrocle is one of the late varieties and is excellent for massing or grouping.
