From Marx Gardens catalog, 1955: PEACOCK DANCE $7.50 For those who seek the bizarre we offer this most brilliant new iris of striking color contrasts. Immense size and attractive form with large showy erect standards give the flower lots of personality. Standards are deep red and purple. The expansive falls are pure white finely penciled plum purple. This is perhaps our finest bicolor, much larger and even flashier than Shimoyo so popular with visitors. Blooms early to midseason on 3-foot stems.
