'Popular Demand' ( Currier McEwen, R. 1988) Sdlg. T1 80/134. JI (3 F. tet.), 30" (75 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards violet (RHS 81 C) with fine white edge; Falls white with blue (88B) pinstripe veining, light yellow signal. 77/65(1): ((( 'Garden Caprice' x self) x 'Frostbound') x unknown) X unknown pinstriped seedling. Pope's Perennials, Seaways Gardens 1988. Honorable Mention 1992.

From AIS Bulletin #268 January 1988 Introducing POPULAR DEMAND: Tetraploid, single, mid-season. We do not usually introduce first generation tetraploids but the demands of visitors made this one a must. The 7" flowers are of pinstripe type with blue veins on white falls. The standards are wine-red with a fine white edge. Wellbranched. Fully fertile with tetraploids and a great parent. $30.00. Seaways Gardens.
