Close to true medium blue (RHS 93B), gold signal. 80/165: (77/65(1): ((('Garden Caprice' x self) x 'Frostbound') x unknown) x unknown) X 'Continuing Pleasure'. Pope's Perennials, Seaways Gardens 1990. Honorable Mention 1992.

From AIS Bulletin #276 January 1990 Introducing SOUTHERN SON: Diploid, 6 falls, M-L. 8" flowers on 36" stalks are the closest to true medium blue that we have seen (RHS-93B). Outstanding! Fertile. 80/165 X Continuing Pleasure. $25. Seaways Gardens.
