From Totty's catalog, 1925: TOTTY’S TRUE BLUE. Double; a very beautiful clear blue with a dash of gold at the base of each petal. A very large double flower; petals with little or no veining and remaining horizontal until faded. A new introduction this year, and a very unusual color in Japanese Irises. 75c. each, $7.50 per doz.
From Flowerfield Bulb Farms catalog 1955: TOTTY'S TRUE BLUE. A truly deep and dark blue Iris of velvety texture. Except for the small yellow signal patches that gleam on the falls and standards, this double flower is of the same intense color throughout including the styles and accessory style branches. Growing in our field, the plant measured 24 inches high. Should be planted to the foreground of the border. Midseason bloom. (July 1st at Flowerfield). Three $2.75, Doz. $9.00.
