From Marx Gardens catalog, 1962: VEILED VANITY (Marx 1961 ) Each $5.00 Most of our introductions selected from the RIGOLETTO SERIES have been heavily veined and of darker colors, but here we offer a white Marhigo with just a scattering of finest blue veining. Distinctive tufted centers are white, sanded bluish purple. Altogether an iris of infinite charm. Substance of the flower is remarkable. The petals are exceptionally thick and their leather-like texture withstands the hottest days to an amazing degree. The crisply ruffled flowers come rather late on branched 5-foot stems. Picture on page 8. |
