'Alabamensis'. (
John Kunkel Small, R. 1932). Series Hexagonae; Stem rigid erect slightly zigzag. Standards violet-blue flushed and streaked reddish-violet, the wings of the claw pinkish lavender flushed violet, becoming green towards the base. Falls spreading or recurved 9 cm. long, the claw pale yellowish-green, veined olive-green the wings lined reddish-violet; the blade violet, a deeper zone around the crest, this being deep-yellow with violet-purple dots and streaks. Style branches dull reddish-violet. Collected Louisiana hybrid that was originally described as a species
